Brisbane's New Farm Park

Just outside the Brisbane CBD lies one of the city's most picturesque parks – New Farm Park.

This huge, manicured park has picnic and barbeque areas and a fantastic kid's playground. Enjoy a stroll along the river or go for a bike ride, or just lie back and admire the historic Moreton Bay Fig Trees, unique to Brisbane, Australia.

New Farm Park is home to the Brisbane Powerhouse Arts Centre. Once a derelict powerhouse on the Brisbane River, this arts centre was transformed into a fine blend of city heritage and modern culture in 2000. The Powerhouse comes alive on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month as the site for the famous farmers markets at New Farm. If you are looking for farm fresh produce then the New Farm Markets are the place for you.

New Farm Park is close to many great Brisbane restaurants while nearby Fortitude Valley, 'The Valley', is the place to go for great clubs, pubs and live music every night of the week.

The award winning New Farm Deli is well known in the area, boasting 'good food and great service'. This deli has been operating for over 25 years and specialises in providing hearty Italian food.

From Brisbane, New Farm is easily accessible by bus and has plenty of car parking available. However, the most enjoyable way to visit is via a Brisbane CityCat. These modern ferries operate seven days a week and stop at regular intervals along the Brisbane River. Not only are they a relaxing and stress free mode of transport, they are also inexpensive. Timetables, fare information and a Brisbane map are available from Translink.
